The "Smart Office": Using TapMo Cards for Door Access (The Future)

The "Smart Office": Using TapMo Cards for Door Access (The Future)

We carry too many cards: access badges, metro cards, payment cards, and business cards. The dream of the "Smart Office" is to consolidate everything into one single card. While TapMo is primarily designed for networking, the technology inside (NFC) is the same tech used in modern smart home locks.

Smart Locks & Home Automation

If you have a smart lock at home (like Samsung, Yale, or August) that supports NFC Keycards, you might be able to register your TapMo Card as a "key."

  • The Hack: Go to your smart lock settings -> Add Key Card -> Tap your TapMo Card.
  • The Result: You can tap your business card to unlock your home office or studio. It’s a great party trick that showcases the versatility of the tech.

Corporate Access Systems (The Caveat)

Most older corporate office buildings use RFID (125kHz), while TapMo uses NFC (13.56MHz). They speak different languages, so your TapMo card likely won't replace your old corporate ID badge just yet. However, modern co-working spaces are rapidly upgrading to NFC readers, paving the way for a future where your business card really is your "All-Access Pass."

The future is keyless. While we aren't fully there yet for every building, your TapMo Card is ready for the smart office revolution.
